As a break from beach activities take the chance and explore any of five the national parks. The most famous is Lagoon La Restinga which is a lagoon with mangrove swamps and colourful flamingos. Lagoon La Restinga is Margaritas prime tourist attraction.

If you want you can take the boat across the lagoon to the Macanao Peninsula. The bird communities of the Macanao Peninsula comprise over 100 species. This is very delight experience and a paradise if you are a birdwatcher! This peninsula is sometimes crowded with flamingos, hawks and pelicans.

A boat trip in La Restinga could be a relaxing hours. One good advice is to go there in the morning or the early afternoon because this is the absolutely best time to see some of the fish, dolphins and the about 100 bird species that living at this place.
