Venezuela Information

If you are planning a trip to Margarita Island there could be interesting to know some Venezuela information. I wish these pages could be interesting reading to the person who wants to know more information about the underestimated and exciting country of Venezuela.

In Europe and North America, Venezuela is perhaps best known for its picturesque and idyllic beaches of Margarita Island and Puerto La Cruz. But the country of Venezuela has much more to offers. It also has a spectacular enviroment with a exciting jungle, the highest waterfall in the world and mystic former glaciers!

Venezuela is located at the most northern part of South America and is about twice the size of California. The country borders to the Caribbean Sea and North Atlantic Ocean to the north, Guyana to the east, Brazil to the south and Columbia to the west. For a more precise location take a look at the map of Venezuela.

The capital of Venezuela is Caracas. This city is quite unknown to many people but is a cosmopolitical city with more than 5 milllions of inhabitants. It also the city of contrasts and its situated at 920 metres about the sea level.

I have also created a separate page for some essential information about the major attractions in Venezuela, except for Margarita Island. This page include concise information about the magnificent Canaima National Park, Los Roques and the groovy litte mountain town of Mérida in the Andes.

Do you just want to know the most basic Venezuela Information, visit the page of facts about Venezuela. This page includes more general information about Venezuela, but could serve as a short summary of the country.

The last page about Venezuela that I have written is the page about the history of Venezuela. This is a subject I personally think is really interesting. Because to really understand the modern society you have to understand the historical one.
