Venezuela Tourism

The Venezuela tourism is successive increasing. More and more people becomes familiar with Venezuela and what this country offers. Except for Margarita Island, Venezuela´s most famous and tourist destinations are Canaima National Park, the archipelago of Los Roques and the groovy litte mountain town of Mérida in the Andes.

Canaima National Park

The Canaima National Park is as large as Switzerland and is situated in the highlands of the Guyanas with height from 400 to the peaks of 2800 metres. The peculiar peaks are called Tepuis by the Pémon Indians. The peaks are flat, almost as a table with vertical walls which has come up by millions of year’s erosion.

At one of the remarkable peaks Auyantepuy, where the Angel Falls situated. Angel Falls is the highest waterfall in the whole world. The name Angel Falls originates from the American pilot and gold-digger Simon Angel, who discovered the falls by mistake in 1937.

The Canaima National Park can be seen either at one day trip or perhaps preferably one day sleeping accommodation near the Angel Falls. It should also be noted that the boat trip and the beautiful walk in the jungle is an awesome experience.

Los Roques

Los Roques is a major Venezuela tourism attraction. The archipelago of Los Roques is likely the best known of Venezuela's Caribbean islands. Los Roques is situated 156 km from Venezuela in the Caribbean Sea. To protect the 24 km long coral reef, Los Roques has become a National Park.

The conditions to snorkelling and scuba diving are completely perfect in Los Roques archipelago! Even if it’s possible to visit Los Roques at one day trip, there could be worth to stay overnight at some of the lodges.

Mérida and the Andes

Do you seek for a blended vacation you a visit to Mérida and the Andes may be what you looking for. Mérida is known as The City of Gentlemen and is one of the most attractive tourist destionations in Venezuela. From Mérida there is easy access to the Andes.

The worlds longest and highest aerial cableway begins in the cosy mountain city of Mérida at 1600 metres and ends at Pico Espejo at 4765 metres. Take the chance and stay some time at the different stations along the way and notice the difference in the ecological environment.
